Mechanical torque protractors are available in two different designs, with magnet mechanism or with fixing arm. The magnetic version is equipped with a semi-flexible cable. The end of the cable has a magnet particle. The user fixes the body of the torque protractor by attaching the magnet head to a metal point.
The graduated dial plate rotates with the nut during the torque process. When the process is finished, the pointer on the scale shows the level reached. Or the nut is tightened until the prescribed degree is reached.
The other model is the models that are shipped with a fixing arm. These models have an L-shaped arm with adjustable distance. The user uses this arm as a stop during the operation. The support arm ensures that the body of the torque protractor remains stable. The graduated dial rotates during operation. The user finishes the process by watching the rotation angle on the scale that he wants to apply.

Torque is defined as the torque required to reach the desired tension in screw jointing processes. It is not possible to measure whether this predicted torque value creates the desired tension (strain). The importance of angular torque becomes evident if we assume that only 10% of the applied torque force of 100 Nm goes to the tension in the stud and the other 90% goes to friction on the threads of the stud and under the nut.
Many machine or automobile manufacturers consider it necessary to turn the nut by degrees after a certain torque in order to guarantee the desired tension in certain critical screw joints. Losses caused by unknown and uncalculated friction are thought to be compensated by angular torque.
Angle Torque with Electronic Torque Wrench
Electronic torque wrench meet the services provided by mechanical torque protractors. As the use of electronic torque wrenches increases, mechanical torque angle meters become obsolete.
All of the electronic torque wrenches can also measure angles during the torque process, and perform both torque and angle torque in a single move.
In addition to this feature, which is found in the most advanced models of electronic torque wrenches, it has technology such as recording transactions and viewing application values on devices such as mobile phones and tablets via bluetooth connection.
